Spider meets with Oakland County Executive and His Director of Economic Development to consolidate a strategic alliance that allows the company to function as a representative that attracts foreign investments from South America to Southeast Michigan.
During the tour of the Spider management board throughout the United States and during their institutional visit to the city of Detroit, Andres Goldenberg, Chairman of the company, held a meeting with L.Brooks Patterson, County Executive of Oakland County, to establish a link that would allow Spider to continue work with the County’s economic development team to facilitate Latin American Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Southeast Michigan.
L.Brooks Patterson is the County Executive of one of the wealthiest counties in America. Located in the Metro Detroit Area, Oakland County is home to over 50% of the Global Fortune 500 companies and has very strong business clusters in Automotive/Mobility, Medical Device, IT, Aerospace and Defense. During his administrative management, the county has become a AAA- Bond rated county and has a balanced 3 year budget with no outstanding debt.. Oakland County now is at a 3% employment rate which economists consider full employment. "They have attracted almost $5 billion dollars in private investment creating and retaining 62,100 jobs. The economy of Oakland County also has a global reach with more than 1,000 companies from 38 foreign countries operating within its borders. "
Regarding this important meeting, Andres Goldenberg comments that "Our goal is to become the main platform that serves as a bridge to attract investments from Latin America to the region. During the past year, we showed with great certainty that we continue betting on all the great advances that have been achieved in metro Detroit, we made a very important number of real estate investments and this year we are determined to consolidate much more".
